Binge

I was laying here tonight feeling extremly gluteanous and guilty. Today started well with a light breakfast, I hit the gym, had 10 glasses of water in before lunch and had a healthy lunch...It did not however end well. I worked a 13 hr day where I was stuck in my bosses house (I am a caregiver and take care of a women with alzheimers) and she bought a cheesecake, a coffee cake, cherry pie and ice cream. I took ms Eleanor ( not her real name changed for her privacy) to dinner at Texas Roadhouse where I proceded to eat an entire basket of rolls to myself, a cup of chili, chicken and a sweet potato. I was really hoping to break the 400 lb line this week, obviously since Monday is just one day away I do not see this happening. I need some support and a big ol kick in the ass (pardon my french).

Dole fruit Crisps

I recently tried dole fruit crisps (apple cinnamon flavor) I saw them at the grocery store. They are new and I loved the idea of a healthy dessert at only 160 calories! As soon as I got home I popped one in the microwave, put the topping on and voila! 20 seconds to a great dessert. I love that they are not sugar free so no after taste and it tastes just like the real thing.

Mixed Berry Oatmeal

This is one of my favorite breakfast recipes, I even love it when I'm not watching what I'm eating.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup quick oats ( I like meijers natural brand)
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp cinnamon (adjust to your taste)
  • 1/4 cup blackberries
  • 1/4 cup blueberries
  • 1/4 cup strawberries
  • 2 tbsp sugar free maple flavored syrup ( I like log cabin)

Directions:

  • Combine berries and syrup in saucepan, bring to medium heat; once boiling reduce to low and let simmer 5 min. and set aside.
  • Combine dry oats and cinnamon in bowl, set aside.
  • Combine water and milk in saucepan, bring to a boil, add oats mixture.
  • Cook 1 min and add berries
  • Let cool slightly, sweeten with atrifical sweetener or sugar to taste.
Calories are based on brand of oatmeal and syrup used, using brands listed becomes approx 230 cal. Makes 1 serving.
